Anne Brasseur is a former Luxembourgish Minister for National Education, Vocational Training and Sports and the second woman to hold the post as President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Anne has, since her time in the Council of Europe, been a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights; the Sub-Committee on Crime Problems and the Fight against Terrorism; and the Sub-Committee on the Middle East and the Arab World. Anne was a Deputy Mayor of the City of Luxembourg for over 20 years and member of Parliament in Luxembourg for 34 years. Among Anne’s many other credentials, she has been elected as member of the board of the Friedrich -Naumann – Foundation for freedom.
